Dr Rehan Kazi started his business, Medical Appraisals UK, in 2016 as an independent, certified medical appraisal provider for doctors.
Rehan aims to make his company the leading independent medical appraiser in UK and has enlisted our services and the support of our community along the way.
Hi Rehan, thanks for joining us. In one or two sentences, tell us what your business / organisation does?
Our aim is to provide an excellent, cost-effective and robust medical appraisal service for Doctors as per the current regulatory requirements in UK. This annual appraisal is needed if Doctors want to retain their license to practice.
What drove you to start doing this?
I saw the alternatives and options – these were too expensive and not robust enough. They were rip-offs!
Current appraisal providers are either unnecessarily too expensive or burdensome in their requirements. We are not.
Who do you help, and how do you help them?
Doctors looking for a medical appraisal, locum Drs, Drs working in private practice, in small independent clinics, cosmetic Drs, etc.
We fully appreciate that often doctors appraisal process can be burdensome and cause anxiety. We undertake our appraisals using Skype (or any other video calling technology app/service) or face to face as per your convenience and endeavour to make the appraisal process as smooth and stress-free as possible for you.
What impact have you been able to make through your work?
Doctors have been really appreciative of the experience.
We are clear and transparent in our charges and processes. This is clear from the positive reviews for our process and appraisers on Google and other sites.
What are some of the biggest myths or misconceptions you encounter?
Too expensive and laborious process. Not true – £350 for an appraisal as against £500-750 market rate and we use the simple MAG form appraisal portfolio.
How long have you been focused on your business / organisation?
Close to two years.
What have been your biggest challenges in that time?
Building our website, SEO, creating Adword campaigns and website content.
What have been the proudest moments in that time?
Building up a list of clients.
What keeps you going when things get hard?
Feedback from clients.
What sort of support do you have in place to keep you moving towards your goals?
